Do you like animals? Do you like to have parties? If you do you should read the book Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson. Bear was sleeping in his den. He was hibernating during a cold, long winter. Some animals started coming into bear’s den. They were making noises but the bear was still snoring. You should read this book to find out what will happen in the end of the book. Will bear wake up?

One morning I was snoring and my brother and sister were as jumping and and making lots of noises but I was still sleeping, like in Bear Snores On. The animals were making loud noises but the Bear was still snoring.

I recommend Bear Snores On to anybody who likes animals who party. Adults can read the book to kids and children. Children can read to sisters, brothers or babies.

My favorite part is when all the animals were making loud noises but the bear was still snoring. I like this book because it’s funny. I have a connection to the book called Bear Snores On. One day my cousin Nathan was sleeping. When I called Nathan to wake up he was still snoring. He didn’t even wake up.

I recommend this book to everybody. Teachers might read this book to children. Kids might read this book to their brothers and sisters.

Too Many Tamales

Do you like tamales? In Too Many Tamales, a girl and her mom were cooking tamales. Maria is the girl and she and her mother make some tamales for a party. Her cousins come and they all are making tamales. Her mother went to go set up the decorations for the party. Maria’s mom took off the ring and Maria wears the ring. They lose it and they can’t find it. So they eat all the tamales. Guess what, they still don’t find the ring. When she couldn’t find the ring then she went to her mother and she said, “I lost your ring.” There is a surprise. I can’t tell you because if I tell you then I will give away the ending.

My favorite part is when they are making tamales because I love to eat tamales. I remember when we had a party and we were making tamales and everybody loved the tamales. So did I. We ate them all. There was no more so we had to make some more. They were gone by the time I got outside.

I recommend this book to third and fourth graders because I think that they will really like this book. Also, if you like books by Gary Soto then you will love this book. I love it myself.

In the beginning of Too Many Tamales Maria’s mother put down her ring, and then Maria picked up her ring and wore it on her thumb. Then her parents invited all of their family members. Then Maria realized that she lost the ring and then she started eating the tamales to find the ring. Will they find the ring or is the ring lost forever? Find out by reading Too Many Tamales.

My favorite part is when they ate the tamales because in the pictures the tamales look yummy. Also, their faces look creepy when they stared at the tamales. Finally, they showed their bellies when they were sick from eating too many. That was funny.

I recommend this book to someone who speaks Spanish because Maria and her family speak Spanish. Also, people who like to eat tamales would like this book. Finally, I recommend it to people who eat a lot. It will make you hungry.

Have you ever went cruisn’ with your friend?  Chato won a cruise for two. In Chato Goes Cruisin‘ by Gary Soto, Chato asked his friend Novio Boy to go on a trip on a ship. But there were too many dogs on the ship. There were mice too. Chato and Novia Boy were bored because they played dog games on the ship. The dogs ate and played at the same time then the dogs got sick. So Chato and Novia Boy  found a ship with cats. Then a wave took Chato and Novia Boy to an island where they found vets for the dogs. Find out what happens next!

My favorite part is when Novia Boy says there’s too much agua. I also like this book because cats had to eat dog food.

I recommend this book to kid’s in grades K-3 because they will also think it is funny. There are 3 stories about Chato and his friends. I like all three books.

Have you ever tricked anyone coming over for dinner? Well, Chato and Novio Boy did. In Chato Goes Cruisin‘ Chato and his friend were making food all afternoon. Chato invited the mice for dinner to trick them. The mice were his neighbors. Then the mice brought a dog. Then Chato and Novio Boy had problem because they were scared of dogs. Uh! Oh!

My favorite part was when Chato said, “all right neighbors.” Then the mice brought a dog. Chato ran and cowered under the dining table.

I recommend this book to people who like funny things. It is funny when Chato said, “all right neighbors” then dropped their stuff and ran. Also I recommend this book to people who like Chato books.
