George’s Marvelous Medicine

written by Roald Dahl

In the book George’s Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl, George gets left home alone with his grandma. His dad is always working and his mom is shopping. He is supposed to give his grandma her medicine. But he has other plans.

Are the characters believable? I think George is believable because a kid would act like a little toddler. His dad is kind of believable because he would be excited to get a world record. His dad wants to make more medicine to raise bigger animals. His mom is believable because she would be sad that a medicine made her mom die. Grandma is not because she could grow out the roof.

I would rate this book to be a 5 out of 10 because it was an okay book. It was kind of funny and exciting. For example, I like Roald Dahl’s expressions that he writes in the book.

George’s Marvelous Medicine is about a boy named George and he is trying to make medicine for his grumpy old grandma. His grandma is an old wicked woman. George makes a medicine for his wicked grandma and tests it on his grandma. His grandma gets taller every second and skinnier. Mr. Kranky makes George make the medicine so he can become rich and famous.

A few of the characters are believable. George is believable because many children hate when their grandma is grumpy and wicked. Mrs. Kranky is believable because she wanted to save her mother. Mr. Kranky is unbelievable because fathers will not try to get rid of their mother.

I would rate George’s Marvelous Medicine a ten out of ten because it is funny and interesting. I like how the author made the book. I recommend this book to 3rd and 4th graders. I like the pictures of the book.

Do you have a grumpy old grandma? George does. George’s Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl is about when George gets left home with his grumpy old grandma. The grumpy old witch asks for tea and her medicine. Then George starts making a medicine for grandma to cure the old witch. When George is done with the medicine he gives it to grandma. Find out what happens when she drinks the medicine.

Most characters are not believable, but a few are. George is kind of believable because he would try to make the medicine but he wouldn’t try to kill or poison his grandma. Mr. Killy Kranky is not realistic because no adult would to poison his wife’s mother. Mr. Killy Kranky tried to make animals bigger so that he could make money. Adults his age don’t do that.

I would rate George’s Marvelous Medicine a 10 out of 10 because the story was interesting, fun and entertaining. I like how the author puts in his funny rhymes in the book. I recommend this book to fourth graders that like fantasy books. George’s Marvelous Medicine is a book you will never forget.

George’s Marvelous Medicine is about when George is alone in the house with his grumpy grandma. When Grandma asked for tea and medicine, George thought about making her medicine. He does not like grandma because she’s mean so he tries to make medicine to cure her grouchiness. When Grandma drinks the medicine that George made weird stuff happens! Read the book to find out.

George is a believable character because the author said little boys don’t get into mischief. George’s mom said not to get into mischief but George really did get in mischief.  Kids his age do that. The medicine is not believable because of the results that happened.

I would rate George’s Marvelous Medicine a 10 out of 10 because it is so funny. I like when the author uses made-up products and words. I wondered what it would feel like if I made that kind of medicine. I would give it to my brother because he is really crabby sometimes. Find out what the medicine does.
